| Bio: | To those who I know well in the world of online role playing, I am known by my popular alias, Akari. There, I am an administrator, a moderator, a coder and scripter, a server maintainer, a question answerer, and hopefully somewhere in that list, a friend to some. For a couple years, I ran much of the anime MUCK online role playing world, and have had some small success in doing so. But now I'm hard pressed to have the time to do it anymore, and MUCKs have become more of a convenient way for me to stay in touch with friends and coordinate evening time video game playing than anything else. Now and then a great site comes along though and rekindles my interest in the hobby. Currently I'm thoroughly enjoying The Ineffable Game. I liked it so much that I decided to pick up MUSH code to help it out some, even though I hate the stuff. ;) My more popular sites were PhoenixMUCK at tnt.dynodns.net 8881, and JipangMUCK at jipangmuck.dynodns.net 1864. They're still open, though the time I invest in them has approached nil. I also coded many of the programs users have available in-MUCK, as well as the MUCK server itself. It brings a lot of satisfaction to me to entertain other people, and it may come as no surprise that my dream was always to work in the industry of making video games. Who was to think that dream would come true? Gone from this profile are my notes about college that were pertinent when I wrote it before. I've graduated since. And, after eight months of trying hard to get a crack into the games industry, I landed my first job as a Junior Programmer after a four week tour of duty as Blizzard Tech Support. Five months later, I was invited to another company where I still work to this day as a Lead Programmer. All I can say is that it's everything I had always wanted in a job, and then some. I am a religious person, and as such, my perspectives on the world, society, and everything else, are formed with that in mind. When I made this LJ, I thought it would pertain only to online activities, thoughts, and musings. But as I look back over the year and a half of using it, I've found that I have had a lot to say about real world issues, and even at times, my life as well. Posts that give out much in the way of details on my life are Friends Only, which is why you won't see many if you're not listed as a Friend below.
